Description
The Peini plantation in Belize grows mainly cacao of the trinitario variety with a touch of criollo. Chocolates made from Belize Peini cacao offer deep notes of nuts, tropical fruits, vanilla and coconut.
The Peini Cocoa Plantation produces cacao with more than 200 farmers in the Punta Gorda region of Belize, from whom it purchases fresh, wet cacao beans, which it then ferments, dries under controlled conditions in a certified cacao processing centre. The plantation carries out training and monitoring activities and has additionally launched a programme of free seedlings for local farmers.
